American Karate Academy has many upcoming events for our students and school families. Refer to this page to find out about upcoming tournaments, promotion testing, school functions and other school related information.

We will also be posting news bulletins or other pertinent information regarding the school, its students, its instructors, or the Master. The calendar will also list these items as well. Make sure you print out the school calendar each month for easy reference.


Camp Side-Kick 2020

Celebrating our 15th year the Brentwood dojo is hosting the annual Camp Side-kick seminar!  Senior Grandmaster Burke, Master Ron, and Master Welsh are all set to instruct a great series of classes for both kids and adults.  Click on the flyer below for more information and to register.  You may also register the day of. New AKA Black Belts!

On November 16th Logan and Maddox were awarded the rank of shodan after a long and difficult test.  The two new juniors were thrilled to earn their new belts and Master Chapman is excited to see them continue their training.  Congratulations!




I.K.S.A. National Training Seminar - 2019


2019 NTS

Mark your calendars for 9/27-9/28.  This years seminar marks the 25th year hosted by our school in Tennessee.  Featured this year is Bill "Superfoot" Wallace as our guest instructor and we have changed the class format.  During the event the classes will be divided into black belts and under belts allowing for smaller more focused classes.

NTS Promotions - 2018

At the recent IKSA National Training Seminar Master Chapman promoted several students to higher dan ranks. Duncan Lamb from the Franklin school was promoted to 2nd Dan. Chase Smith and Weston Sharpe from the Brentwood school were both promoted to 3rd Dan. Lindsey Culbreth, also from the Brentwood school, was promoted to 5th Dan and given the title "Master of the Martial Arts."
